As a freelancer and employee of Infocaster I have been developing online flash tools for one of the larger dutch insurance company ASR Nederland. All these tools allow current and potential customers for ASR to gain knowledge in their financial situation and connect them to one of the products that ASR has to offer.

Woven – graduation project

Graduation project Woven is the first complete e-wearable pervasive game platform prototype. Playing a game has become magical. But during the build we discovered that Woven is much more than a game platform. It is a true platform possible to use during daily activities and make them much more fun. With all the integrated technology, like bluetooth, active speakers, shaker motors, a RGB LED screen and more the sky is the limit…

In 2012 Christiaan Ribbens and myself started on this innovative graduation project. In just 7 months time we build two prototype shirts and the game spooky that shows one of many possibilities the clothing has in store.

Spooky lets the player experience the hidden dark and funny world of ghosts, spirits and phantoms. Invisible for the human eye, they are looking to misbehave. You will go on a big adventure, collecting these spirits. The player will be attacked at different times and different locations. Fight these evil ghosts, defeat them and capture them! The game uses your body and heart rate and gives auditory and haptic feedback. Find these ghosts and use the power to scare other players. Fear to believe, the tales were wrong…

Nonsense

Nonsense is a sound toy for a group of four six-year-olds. The toy provokes fantasy and construction play, resulting in a fun and interesting experience for these children. The toy has the following components: a hub with a huge red button, 1 start block and 15 sound blocks. Each block contains four different sound samples with words, music and sound effects. Children can connect these blocks by placing them in a grid, either next to each other or far away from each other, and create a sequence of words and sounds. This sequence will be a sentence with different sounds and words, resulting in Nonsense. The children can change the volume on the hub and start the sequence by pressing on the big button. Everything is made out of wood to create a magical experience, to hide the electronics in a material that children are familiar with.

Lustrum Phocas

For my rowing club NSRV Phocas I was chosen to be the head of the lustrum promotion commission. I lead a team on 4 people and we where in charge of creating all the promotion materials and merchandise. Together with Remi Alkemade we created all of the designs for the lustrum year. Here you can see a few of the designs that where created.

Gamejam – Cultures at play

In october 2011 the magic bean project group I was part of where asked to join a game-jam in istanbul. With more then half of the team members we said yes and headed on to Istanbul Turkey to join the game-jam “Cultures at play”. There we mixed with Turkish students to create a game in just 3 days. The game we created managed to get second place during this game-jam. Below you can view the resulting game called Lokum.

The goal of the game is to buy different colored Lokum by clicking any of the plates. You then try to sell the lokum to matching customer that walks by. But make sure you make an quick offer. Before you know they are gone.

Elias logo

For my rowing fraternity Elias I have created a logo. The sword, shield and swan are a representation of the knight Elias, the knight from a local myth the fraternities name is based on. The bigblades (rowing paddles) represent our common interest in rowing.

VVV arnhem/nijmegen mobile site design

During my internship at Infocaster I created the design of the mobile site of VVV Arnhem Nijmegen. The design to be as lightweight as possible while trying to match the normal website as much as possible. The buttons have been made extra large so that users on small screen smartphones can use the site effectively.

IKKI Navigator

The IKKI navigator is a social carreer navigator. With it you can visualise your carreer ambitions and look for new possible jobs as a freelancer.
For this project I was hired as a flash debugger and add new interface/navigation elements.

Hand of God

Together with Danny Groenen we created the concept for a touchtable game called The hand of God. The goal of this game is to protect a small group of followers from enemies that try to attack them. You as “god” can help them by squashing the enemies with your finger or by summoning things like tornadoes to blow away the enemies of your followers. The whole game is controlled by making gestures with your fingers on the touch surface.

During the startup fase of this school project I focused on defining the gestures that are used to control the game and creating the interface together with Danny Groenen. After that I acted as the developer of this flashgame.

Maste4 is a art gally located at the bottom of a glacier near Saas-fee. Its a location that can be used by artists to show their work and meet other artists.
Commissioned by Sander Hoeken I designs the website for Maste4.
